Common question- When do I report an accident to DMV?

In Oregon, you have 72 hours to report an accident to DMV if there are any injuries, if damage to your car is over $2500, if damage to any car is over $2500 and has to be towed from the scene. Don’t forget to keep a copy!! https://www.oregon.gov/odot/forms/dmv/32.pdf

In Washington, you have 4 days to file your report with WSP if damage is over $1000. If an officer investigates, he may file the report for you in WA so be sure to search WSP accident reports to see if it’s already been reported. If not, you’ll want to report it and save a copy before hitting send! Once you hit send, the only way to order a copy of the report is to request it online and pay $10.50, so do it when you file! https://fortress.wa.gov/wsp/wrecr/OMVCR/
