I am originally from Michigan and grew up in a middle class home in Tucson, Arizona. I was the oldest of 3 kids and the only daughter of a police officer and a teacher. I rode horses, did gymnastics, swam butterfly and freestyle, played tennis, and eventually landed on volleyball. I played 3 years of varsity volleyball in high school and played club ball year round, later becoming a coach and referee. I graduated #6 in my high school class, earning a full ride to the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats). I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology and Sociology a semester early, and decided to come to Portland to attend Lewis and Clark Law School because I had an interest in environmental law and was skeptical that it still rained anywhere in the world after 20 years in Tucson.

In law school, I quickly gravitated toward torts and took every torts class I could find. I spent a summer in Siena, Italy and Amsterdam, taking international law classes and visited 11 countries. In Italy, I was able to see Siena prepare for the Il Palio, a bareback horse race around the middle of the town dating back to the middle ages. I saw the house Mozart grew up in in Salzburg, saw Paris, the Vasa Museum in Stockholm, the Little Mermaid statue in Denmark, the Berlin wall and a concentration camp, stumbled upon a Pavaratti concert in a park in London, and saw the Edinburgh Castle. That summer abroad was one of the best experiences of my life and it allowed me to graduate law school early. I passed the Oregon bar exam in February, 2003. In law school, I clerked for a family law and personal injury firm in Portland for a year, worked for 2 small firms after I graduated, had my own business for a few years and then decided to get licensed in WA in 2008. I have worked with Bill Montecucco in Vancouver, WA since then, primarily focusing on personal injury cases and working in both WA and OR. I am currently working on obtaining my AZ law license.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling both with and without my young children, volleyball, stand-up comedy, nature, boating, reading and sewing memory animals for people. I have obtained my my scuba and nitrox certifications.
