Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage – Washington folks – DO NOT WAIVE THIS. It is waivable in Washington. It’s a bad idea. You pay for insurance. If you are hit by an uninsured driver, or a driver with minimal limits, a driver with no assets, someone with road rage where their insurance may deny coverage, or leaves the scene, you are going to want this coverage! It also generally covers you and your family members if you are on a bike or a pedestrian!! This coverage is important. If you are in Oregon, you should have it already. If you are in Washington, you will be given the option to waive it. I do not advise you do this. You want this coverage.
